The end of August always feels like the end of the year. It reminds me of my accomplishments gone wild. Remember those New year affirmations and goals we set? Some realistic and some not, which we did not follow through. The guilt of not completing something suddenly kicks in for me at this point in the year. And so, what do I do? Set up a schedule and stick to it now. Well..., no of course!! I start watching a movie or start a brand new series that no one's ever heard about.
You might be wondering if this week's theme might be based on this. Sorry to disappoint, but no. I just wanted to rant. The theme is completely different.
Here, I have compiled a list of movies with a psycho component in them.
I CARE A LOT
The plot revolves around a psychotic lady who takes advantage of elderly people by scheming them for money. All until she is outsmarted by an older woman she tries to scam. It's very edgy and has an actor from Game of Thrones (Nope, not giving away who it is!)
Zodiac
An adaptation of what went into attempting to catch the famous Zodiac Killer. I would say, the A-list cast combined with a decent screenplay makes it an interesting watch, if you're into serial killers.
Secret obsession
An obsessive stalker is pretty much the plot of the movie. There are some very interesting scenes that make this one stand out from the crowd.
The Roommate
I watched this for Blair (Leighton) from Gossip Girl and she is the psycho roommate. And this did not require me to even watch a review before I started. A dark and silent room with a stable internet connection is all you need to watch this one.
Deadly illusions
Kristin Davis (Charlotte from Sex and the City) has blew my mind once again in this psycho thriller. I honestly don't have any words to say about her performance here!
Greta
An absolute perfection in terms of screenplay and plot. Not a dull moment throughout. It is so well written that it can make you queasy at times, and the writer definitely has intended for it.
Dangerous Lies
I started watching this for Camila Mendes (Veronica from Riverdale). The movie has everything to do with a creepy neighbour, but there the storyline is a hit and a miss. There are parts where it keeps you really engaged and at times, you can really guess what happens. But if you have watched all the above movies and looking for something you know is creepy and are willing to overlook the miss in the plot lines, then this is for you!
That's all for this week's list. Let me know if I have missed any of the other psycho thriller movies in the comments below or write to me at sindhuja@thesinetales.com
Ciao!
