Nine Perfect Strangers
Episode 2 - The Critical Path
It indeed is! Day 2 at the Tranquillum is now beginning to feel very wrong to every person in attendance there and questioning Masha over her ulterior motives. The past traumas of some people come up. I especially liked the scene where they dug their own graves (literally! without knowing, thinking of it as a part of the assignment), for 2 specific reasons.
The shot in the scene was so nice to look at, all 9 graves in a semi-circular fashion. I hope there's more meaning as to why was it shot that way.
The scene in itself makes you introspect about yourself on a deeper level. Question your purpose of what you do and why you do it when you're alive
Masha explains that asking those questions and feeling it is important as it gives you a purpose for rebirth. I can only wonder at this point, what this means.
And today, it's Jessica's turn to visit Masha, to tell her how and why she feels the way she does. Slowly uncovering the truth, one after the other. With some trust exercises and budding friendships, the group starts to bond. A rather peculiar bunch at that. With every passing moment, it feels like Masha is uncovering everyone's fears. Peeling their feelings and emotions like an onion, making them understand themselves as they have never before.
As things seem to be coming together, they are falling apart in ways unknown. It's very soon for Masha to uncover the truth of one of the members and in the end, she resorts to the "New Protocol". In the final scene when she asks Delilah and Yao to start with it, we can sense the sinister brewing.
Ciao!
