Nine Perfect Strangers: Episode 6 - Motherlode

Before I start this one, I would like to mention how amazing Manny Jacinto is as Yao. I have seen his performance in The Good Place and a couple other movies where plays characters that bring out a quirky side in him, but here it's a very serious and a totally different role compared to his previous ones. I assumed he'd be good for just comic roles and has an impeccable comedy timing, but this part of his acting has a fresh perspective and has showcased his versatility in terms of his roles and capabilities.


As the new protocol progresses at a full speed, everyone starts experiencing their emotions at peak. The purpose of selection of Carmel into the retreat is revealed and also with it, a hint of Masha's past comes to light. Her suspicions grow on everyone around her, contemplating the sender of threats.


Split into 4 groups, all of them are engaged in their own activities and growing closer by the minute. Everyone experiencing and living their traumas, especially the Marconis when their deepest fear and a conversation buried deep inside their subconscious comes out in the form of panic attacks. The Marconis discover their reason to be chosen by Masha, a shared pain that they all share must come to an end with a psychedelic confrontation. She repeatedly mentions that reliving past trauma is way to healing and that she wants to help them to do that, but is her healing them is a way towards her peace?
