One episode a day: Tag Eins

I have been more of a binge-watcher of series or movies or shows in general. The curiosity to get to the end is so much that at times I skip to the end, watch the final episode and then go through the entire middle part of the story. And in the last month, September, I binge-watched just a couple of seasons of shows that released new ones and I just wanted to get it over with. Starting any new ones wasn't that interesting and I found it rather exhausting and demotivated while choosing what to watch next. Honestly, I need some moderation when it comes to watching TV shows. There are many interesting shows and storylines to cover, but taking some time to really watch and understand the characters and stories, for me, has led to a much better overall experience than just clicking on "Next episode" at the end of each episode. So for this month, I contemplated various approaches and methods to improve my watching experience and decided to watch just one episode a day, of a TV show that has good character development and a different storyline than the usual ones.

Nine Perfect Strangers

For the upcoming 8 days, I will be watching one episode of Nine Perfect Strangers each day, starting today, and write about my experience with that episode.

Episode 1 - Random Acts of Mayhem

This episode gives us a glimpse of all the 9 characters that go to a wellness retreat Tranquillum run by Masha (Nicole Kidman) and 3 of her associates. All these 9 people who enter this place have some kind of emotional baggage from their past and expect that this retreat will transform them into 2.0 version of themselves. The introduction of Masha is very eerie and spooky. I don't even have to comment on Nicole Kidman's acting skills, she sounds mysterious and like a healer at the same time. By the end of the episode, it is clear that this wellness retreat has something more than it lets on to be.

Ciao!
