Midweek Mood Playlist : Taylor Swift

The first artist I listened to was Taylor Swift, back in 2015, that's when I got introduced to English/American music. Although, I did not understand the meaning of the lyrics as deeply as they are intended, I developed a strong affliction towards Pop genre of English music. I remember listening to Love Story and That's the way I loved you over and over again. With time, I understood what the lyrics actually meant, and thanks to many YouTube channels where they dissect every word, speculate and answer why, where and who of every song Taylor Swift writes. There's so much literature and thought behind every song, that's very subtle yet obvious. I can keep going on about why I love her music for hours.

It's only obvious and right if I start my first article on music by curating Taylor Swift's iconic songs into a single playlist in such an order which will take you through an entire journey of emotions starting from rage to calm and every other emotion there is known.

The entire Spotify playlist is up here.

All the songs, in order of their appearance in playlist are listed below with "the line" that makes it special.

Boys only ant love if it's torture. Don't say I didn't, say I didn't warn y'all

So step right out, There is no amount Of cryin' I can do for you

Every bait and switch was a work of art

'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet"

Say you'll remember me standing in a nice dress Staring at the sunset, babe

And I was catching my breath Barefoot in the wildest winter

Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand?

To kiss in cars and downtown bars Was all we needed

'Cause one of these things is not like the others Livin' in winter, I am your summer

You gave me all your love and all I gave you was goodbye

You've got that long hair slick back, white t-shirt And I got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt

They wouldn't shake their heads and question how much of this I deserve

He was long gone When he met me And I realize The joke is on me

Put the money in a bag and I stole the keys

But then something happened one magical night

My reputation's never been worse, so You must like me for me

Did you think we'd be fine? Still got scars on my back from your knife

Wrap your arms around me, baby boy

Sometimes you just don't know the answer 'Til someone's on their knees and asks you

'Cause shade never made anybody less gay

When you said you needed space (what?)

'Cause I hear he's got his arm 'round a brand-new girl

And I can see us twisted in bedsheets August sipped away like a bottle of wine

We're happy, free, confused and lonely in the best way

All the king's horses, all the king's men Couldn't put me together again

Slept next to her, but I dreamt of you all summer long

When we first dropped our bags on apartment floors Took our broken hearts, put them in a drawer

They say home is where the heart is, But God, I love the English

And wonder about the only soul who can tell which smiles I'm fakin

Breakin' down and coming undone, It's a roller coaster kinda rush

What died didn't stay dead

I'll be the actress starring in your bad dreams

When did all our lessons start to look like weapons

And in a feud with her neighbor She stole his dog and dyed it key lime green

Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find That what you're looking for has been here the whole time

Both sprung, I got issues and chips on both of my shoulders

I'm feelin' like I've missed you all this time

Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes

Your necklace hanging from my neck The night we couldn't quite forget

Roaring twenties, tossing pennies in the pool

Now I'm searching for signs in a haunted club

I think he did it but I just can't prove it
